Animation is starting to pay off.

I have been doing some motion graphic work for different clients and because of that work, PIXAR animation studios, is interested in me working with them. I am so excited my teeth hurt and my knees give out every so often. I love the fact that getting up at 5am and working on design projects are starting to pay off, even bigger then I had ever imagined.

It started at the tender age of 17 with a class project of writing down goals and mailing the goals to ourselves a couple of years later. It reminded me of where I really want to be and the person I once was.

God is awesome.

Death of an animation great :(

Tuesday April 15, 2008-------------------

I always thought that I would meet one of the "9 old men" Disney had when Disney used to be about substance and amazing art.

I learned that Ollie loved trains and even had one around his property. This love of trains is a big deal because all the greats, Walt Disney, John Lasseter, share/ed this same love. I'm thinking I might purchase a train set soon :)

Here are handy lists of all the characters that Ollie animated in the Disney features and shorts.

Alvin & Chipmunks 60 years old!!!

This weekend I had watched the live action/ 3d animation movie Alvin & the Chipmunks and thought that I should say I was happily surprised after watching it. It had some moments that were funny enough to laugh out loud, even the second time that I watched it. The story was well done with the blending of the old with the new. But, the biggest down fall was whenever "Dave"(Jason Lee) yelled that nostalgic yell of, "ALLLVVVINNNNN!!" it was like nails on a chalkboard and made me shutter every time. It just did not sound the way it did on the cartoons and seemed to be a very weak strain for the actor to do.

The Chipmunks are 60 this year and still holding up strong with their fans of yesteryear and now with the fans of today.

Shrek the Halls

The HollywoodReporter says that this Christmas special was viewed as the highest over any other shown last night. It might be that I am a sucker for Christmas entertainment but, I was fortunate enough to watch it myself and thought that it was spectacular. It had a great Christmas story with the Shrek comedy that we all loved from the first of the movie series. I thought that Shrek was going to die with the 'Third' installment, but this was the Christmas miracle that got these characters back on the nice list.

Shrek the Nerd...

Shrek 3 was everything that it was expected, horrible. It’s hard to come up with something truly positive to say about Shrek The Third, but there is one moment that’s almost worth the price of admission. Gingi and his wonderful flash backs.... however, it is just the one moment, and however rollicking that (singular) big guffaw is, it’s not going to be quite enough to put off asking, simply, “what went wrong?” The story must have flown out the window knocking over funny jokes that they didn't already do in the previous movies. Not to mention the fact that they casted new, awe full, characters to get people to see the movie. Justin Timberlake as the young king that came from an island of the teenagers....Yeeaahh. when the amazing animation team at Dreamworks came up with that idea they should have stopped, looked at each other and laughed a big laugh at this idiotic idea. Then when they were done laughing, that is when they should have started to think of a better idea for a movie.

1.5 stars from this animation movie lover, too bad. I hope that their next one is better, it seems like it will be. KungFuPanda
